The Jasper Public Library first opened its doors on December 18th, 1934 in a little room in the rear of the City Office. During National Book Week, November 16th-22nd,1952, the Library opened the doors of a new building on 1116 Main St. The library would grow & develop through the decades with renovations and updates in order to meet its patrons needs. The library is currently still in that location but is setting its sights on moving into the state-of-the-art Thyen-Clarke Cultural Center in the fall of 2020. The new Cultural Center will serve as a cultural hub in Jasper, housing both Jasper Community Arts and the Jasper Public Library.
The Jasper Public Library prides itself on serving a diverse community and providing enrichment and learning opportunities for all ages. JPL strives to provide a variety of programming and services that meets the needs of our community.
