Genealogy & Research Fees

Introduction

We at the Jasper-Dubois County Public Library are happy to assist you in your genealogy research. If you live out of town and/or are unable to come in, we do offer some basic research services remotely. We will also assist you if you come into the library. Keep in mind that time and staff constraints prevent us from assisting with detailed or large projects. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and knowledge to conduct your own research because it is enjoyable!

Cost/Time Allowance

Due to the high demand and staff time of conducting Genealogy and/or Research Services for patrons, we have established the following policy:

Due to additional work place responsibilities, library staff will be limited to a maximum of 2 hours of remote research assistance for an individual during a 6-month time period. If needing more assistance, you may request an additional 2 hours of remote research assistance every 6 months thereafter. There is no charge for this service.

Genealogy Assistance Programs

Our libraries do offer Genealogy Assitance programs throughout the year. These dates are available on our event calendar or by contacting the library.

If you would like further assistance, please contact our Genealogy and Reference Librarian at [email protected] or call the library directly at (812) 482-2712.
