This monthly session invites you to attend a session on a given topic of genealogy. Some weeks we will spend in discussions, some viewing videos by nationally recognized experts in the field and other times we will practice new skills.
Tuesday, May 2, 10-11:30 WHAT DO I DO TO BREAK DOWN A BRICK WALL IN MY RESEARCH? How do you overcome the obstacles to finding the information you are seeking? Learn other approaches, other resources, or other techniques to finally get the answers you are looking for.
Tuesday, June 6, 10-11:30 BEGINNING GENEALOGY This session will focus on how to start or how to continue work that someone else has started. Beginning with what you know, and discovering what you DON’T know so that you can develop a plan.
Tuesday, July 11, 10-11:30 USING THE INTERNET FOR GENEALOGY: Explore the use of the internet to gather records, verify information and to extend your family tree. This session will provide options that will work best for the ancestors you are seeking. Both free and paid sites will be discussed with a focus on the ones provided through the Jasper Library. No special equipment will be required, but feel free to bring in your own laptops or tablets that you use for research. Library computers will be available for you to use as well.
