Ben Schitter, a life scout in Troop 185 in Jasper, has chosen the library to work with for his Eagle Scout Project. This project will be to install a permanent StoryWalk around the new Jasper Public Library.
A StoryWalk is a series of stand-alone framed signs that each contain pages of a children’s picture book. As a family walks to each of the 16 signs, they will read a complete book and get exercise too. The book will be changed out every month.
His project will cost around $5,400 with any money collected over that going towards buying the books that go in the signs and also to help maintain the signs in the future. He is currently collecting donations to fund this project.
If interested in donating, checks can be made payable and sent directly to the Jasper Public Library, 1116 Main St., Jasper, IN 47546 with “Storywalk Eagle Scout Project” in the memo line.
Donations may also be made online with any major credit card at https://jdcpl.us/donate/
If you would like to purchase a sign in honor/memory of someone, you can donate a minimum of $350 to the project. An engraving will go on the sign with the name(s) of your choice.
We truly appreciate any donation in support of Ben’s Eagle Scout project and are delighted to see the project be installed. Questions may be directed to Director Christine Golden at 812-482-2712 x6115 or [email protected]
